On Friday, November 10, 2023 the ESC of Medina County was honored to welcome Sergeant Major Haywood Riley for a Veterans Day presentation. Sergeant Major Riley relayed stories of life in the military and beyond in a very engaging presentation attended by students in our Alternative School and RISE Academy programs and the ESC Central Office Staff.
Haywood Riley, a dedicated Vietnam veteran, spoke of his unwavering commitment and service to his country. Having served as a Marine for an impressive 30 years, Riley's military journey is a testament to his resilience and devotion. Beyond the battlefield, he has demonstrated enduring commitment on the home front, celebrating a remarkable 62 years of marriage with his wife, Connie. An adventurer at heart, Riley has explored the diverse landscapes of all 50 states and ventured across more than 20 countries, showcasing a deep appreciation for cultural diversity and a thirst for exploration. His proud service, both domestically and internationally, underscores a life well-lived and a legacy of patriotism that continues to inspire those around him.
