Based on his award-winning book, New Literacies in Action, Dr. Kist will model a variety of ways that you can integrate technology into your classroom. Collected from schools across North America, these strategies can be implemented in a wide range of classrooms, from the technologically barren to the technologically advanced. Assignments and assessments will be demonstrated that can be used in conjunction with: Blogging, Using Social Media, Texting, Using Google Classroom, and Integrating the Arts. Video clips from documentary footage shot on location in classrooms throughout North America will be shared to provide real-world examples of students and teachers co-learning in new media environments.
