Gifted and Talented Coordination and Intervention

The Medina County Schools’ Educational Service Center provides consultant and coordination services for gifted and talented classes and teachers by means of properly certificated gifted and talented coordinators and two teachers. In addition to support services, the gifted and talented coordinators/teachers assist with and facilitate the following:

  • Testing of students’ placement in gifted programs and accelerated options
  • District written gifted and talented plans
  • Local gifted teachers’ support group
  • State Department of Education reviews of local programs and policies
  • Personnel recruitment and selection

Education Consultation:

  • Identification of gifted and talented children
  • Professional development
  • Curriculum development
  • Parent and community development
  • Liaison to regional, state, and national organizations (GCCG, OAGC, and NAGC)
  • Participation on district and community committees
  • Grant writing
  • Coordination of Artist-in-Residence programs

  • Academic Challenge program and competitions for high schools and middle schools
