Alternative High School Program
The Alternative High School Program represents a partnership between the Medina County ESC and our customer districts. The program is designed for credit-deficient high school students who are sixteen years old or older.
Students meet in class four hours per day and work in a private sector job at least 2 1/2 hours per day. Students can earn credit in the work-study program. Certified teachers provide in-class assistance to students.
The majority of the academic curriculum is provided online. Students can access the courses during regular school hours or any other time at home. Physical education courses are developed using “life-long” activities and Medina County facilities. Students are receiving training in the Performing With Microsoft Office XP series and can earn up to one credit for their work.
Consultants provide scheduling, tutoring, home communications, and other necessary services to the students.
Denise Valerio provides technical support services to the students.
