SUBSTITUTE TEACHER ORIENTATION TRAINING PROGRAM— (Class dates and location changes.) The Medina County Schools’ Educational Service Center Substitute Teacher Training Program provides substitute teachers with skills in teaching strategies, classroom management, special education, legal issues, and professionalism. The training is done by highly qualified trainers that model the way substitute teachers are expected to teach. On Thursday, May 13, 2010, four school districts, Brunswick City, Highland Local, Medina City, and Wadsworth City participated in Model UN which was sponsored by the Medina County Schools’ ESC and held at the Medina County University Center. Opening ceremonies were followed by the Pease Essay Contest Winner, Emily Nosek of Highland Middle School, who wrote an article a poem called Be the One Voice . The Medina County Schools’ Educational Service Center provides consultant and coordination services for gifted and talented classes and teachers by means of properly certificated gifted and talented coordinators and two teachers.
