This class will focus on strategies to motivate struggling students--both those who are "a-literates" (they don't like to read) and those who are struggling with basic skills. Strategies will be presented focusing on ideas to be done before, during, and after the teaching of a unit. These strategies are hands-on, and can be implemented quickly and easily in all content areas. Proven ideas will also be suggested for helping you manage your classroom on a daily basis. Participants will leave this workshop with a toolkit of ideas and strategies that will motivate even the most unmotivated reader. A Google Classroom will equip participants with a collaboration network with other teachers. The final project will be the development of a tech tool that assists with classroom management. These tools will be uploaded into the Google Classroom for future use.
