Recognizing and Supporting Depressed Students - Part 1

Description:
This class will cover the difficult topic of depression in children and adolescents. Participants will have a working knowledge of the warning signs of clinical depression as well as suicidal ideations. The protocol for addressing serious concerns as well as parent involvement will be explored. We will practice techniques used in the classroom to alleviate some of the symptoms. Participants will leave this workshop feeling empowered to help students and families dealing with depression.
Registration fee: $60 Out-of-District fee: $120
One (1) Graduate Credit Hour will be available at the cost of $150 through The University of Akron or Ashland University on the first day of class. 1.5 CEUs will be available at no charge.
