Fair Performance

The 2018 Medina County Fair Honors Ensembles performed in concert at noon in the Community Center at the Fairgrounds on Thursday, August 2. More than 200 students participated in the ensembles.

It has been 24 years since a student honors orchestra has performed at the Fair, so the addition of an Honors Orchestra, conducted by Valerie Roman, created extra excitement this year. For example, audience members provided paper bag “fireworks” during the performance of Overture 1812, Opus 49. Also, several orchestra soloists performed The Boogie Man Blues. Furthermore, Andrew Falkosky and Stephanie Joseph, both of Medina, were featured as vocal soloists when the youth choir presented We Won’t Stop Dreaming.

Michael McClintock and Pamela Haberkorn conducted the Elementary and Youth Choirs; Emily Miller served as choir accompanist and Lauren Patyak served as choral assistant. Alice Rudolph conducted the Concert and Symphonic Bands, and Nathan Rudolph served as assistant director. The honors ensembles were under the supervision of Michael McClintock, Fair Honors Ensembles Coordinator for the Educational Service Center of Medina County.
