This festival is held annually in the spring at the Cleveland Clinic Medina Hospital Medical Office Building. A goal of this juried art show is to provide more opportunities for recognition to as many high school students as possible.
Students may submit one or two pieces of their very best artwork. There are no entry fees.
The Visual Art Festival provides the opportunity for high school visual arts students to:
-- Have their unique works of art displayed publicly,
-- Have their works adjudicated, and
-- View artwork by students from other school districts in Medina County.
Angel Kopnicky from Buckeye High School was awarded the 2023 "Best of Show" for her “Angel” painting. As such, she received a $300 award from the ESC, sponsored by George and Mary Marg Marquis. The ESC of Medina County gifted a total of $1,300 to 21 student for their award-winning artwork in May 2023. The following sponsors' generous support made possible many of the student awards: Dominic's Pizzeria, Hollo's PaperCraft, Inc., George and Mary Marg Marquis, VCS Salon and Spa, and Brenda Zacharias.
Such partners as Cleveland Clinic Medina Hospital and CBRE Group are vital to staging the show in such a nice public venue.
An outgrowth of the Visual Art Festival is a year-round rotating student artwork display on several floors of the Medina Medical Office Building. See "Arts in Public Places" webpage.
